The “Design You Can Feel” by ASUS
The “Design You Can Feel” ASUS exhibition featured a specially commissioned installation by Studio INI, housed beneath the curved glass ceiling of Galleria Meravigli. The installation dynamically responded to visitors as they walked through it, activating wing-like, semi-transparent panels that opened and closed behind them.
The wings, made from aluminium honeycomb and ASUS’s proprietary Ceraluminium™, engaged the senses by reflecting and absorbing light. The panels invited visitors to interact with the structure, with their movements causing the panels to shift. The installation mimicked Zenbook’s slim silhouette and integrated nature-inspired design, creating a playful interaction between revealing and concealing movements.
Nassia Inglessis, founder of Studio INI, explained: “At Studio INI, we seek to create what we call embodied intelligence in our designs – a seamless connection between built architecture and the human element.” Each touch on the Ceraluminium™ panels was recorded through changes in conductivity, generating a spatial representation of visitors’ interactions.
Strategic note
The “Design You Can Feel” exhibition showed human-centric, sustainable design. The “Willful Wonder” installation offered a tactile experience that responds to their movements, mirroring the Zenbook’s innovative use of lightweight materials. ASUS’s integration of recyclable materials and environmentally responsible processes positions the brand as a player in responsible innovation, appealing to the growing market of consumers who seek sustainability without compromising on performance or design.
