Fashion as Space: Alaïa’s Paris Trilogy

Alaïa has opened a new flagship at 15 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, completing its Parisian trilogy alongside the stores on Rue de Moussy and Rue de Marignan. This location fulfills Azzedine Alaïa’s vision for a boutique on the iconic street.

Designed by architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa with Pieter Mulier, the store merges art, fashion, and design. The layout, inspired by Alaïa’s “second skins” concept, features transparent, tubular rooms in soft pink tones, each showcasing a different collection. The nude hues and curved glass façade create an ethereal atmosphere, blending the interior with the street outside.

The boutique also features select art and design pieces curated by Pieter Mulier, including works by Ron Arad, Philippe Malouin, and Diamond Stingily, blending personal and industrial themes.

The spiral staircase leads to the second floor, where Le Café Sant Ambroeus creates a space for visitors to pause with a cup of coffee and small talk.

Strategic notes

Alaïa’s store is a physical expression of the brand’s identity. The store treats fashion as part of a big creative landscape. The architecture and curated artworks reinforce Alaïa as a design-driven brand, not just a clothing label.
